Tr*mp, Africa & This Black-Ass Life
Welcome to the eighth installment of This Black-Ass Life! This week, we’re talking all things Tangerine Tyrant and Africa. Also, Chi West is here and I (Mitu) dare you to hate on Kimye Baby #3 - no matter what they’re named, the babies from that pair are BEAUTIFUL.
Don’t forget: Send us topics, texts from your parents, Kanye Omari West updates and any Black-Ass anything from around the world and the web. Don’t forget to also forward to your friends to subscribe.
l. The Facts
Honeydew Hitler called El Salvador, Haiti, and countries in Africa “shithole countries.”
Protesters here and abroad are livid.
Terra Cotta TurdFace also angered countries in the African Union, who gathered on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend to formally ask the U.S. to clarify whether they were regarded as “shitholes.”
Read South Africa’s statement demanding an official explanation of the “shithole” comment.
Why is this important?
Domestically, he’s already hurting Black immigrants. For example, Haiti, Belize, Samoa are no longer eligible for temporary US work visas.
He has also pledged to send victims of Haiti’s earthquake back to Haiti in 2019.
We are not going to lie to you. America’s Africa policy was never anything to write home about, but Kremlin Gremlin’s complete lack of understanding and disdain for the continent is scary. Unlike the last three U.S. Presidents, who at least had one initiative relating to Africa (PEPFAR, AGOA, Electrify Africa), Pumpkin Spice Satan is solely focused on militarization and making despicable comments.
What can my Black Ass do?
We usually put helpful suggestions here, but we’re honestly at a loss.
But you can check out this travel guide from Condé Nast on beautiful “shithole” countries you can visit.
ll. Other Things
Some happenings
Unrelated to anything else in this newsletter, Jumoke just told me that Raven Symone and Lindsay Lohan used to be roommates and I (Mitu) can’t not share that information in good conscience. More info here.
Also, if you haven’t started the new Bravo show, “To Rome for Love,” you’re sorely missing out. Five Black women (including Gina Neely of Food Network fame!) travel to Rome to find love.
Must read: A conversation between Kristina Agbebiyi, a queer organizer and her conservative Nigerian mama about gender identity and love.
Our Black-Ass song of the week (Mitu):
Justine Skye has a new album out and you must listen. Links to listen on Spotify and Tidal. Start with U Don’t Know featuring WizKid.
Obligatory Kanye check-in:
Kanye’s been spotted with his laptop and a big smile so an album should be here any time now.
Things we are looking forward to / things we are not looking forward to:
We just bought our tickets to Black Panther and now the countdown begins to seeing Chadwick ‘n em kick ass.
We’re not looking forward to discussions regarding the government shutdown, especially around blaming immigrants for holding up a deal.
lll. Text from a Black-Ass Mama
My (Mitu) mama was not pleased with Tangerine Turd’s news conference response to Charlottesville. But this can really relate to any day in 45’s America.

Have a great week and stay Black and beautiful! We’ll hit your inbox next on February 5.
